London

The London Ride provides the unique chance to cycle the route of the final stage of the 2010 Tour of Britain, just ahead of the professional race that afternoon. This year the London Borough of Newham will be hosting the Tour Ride and the finale of the Tour of Britain with a route that celebrates the industrial heritage of London’s Docklands Riders and the vibrant community; providing activities for the whole community to come out and enjoy.

Distance: 12 Km circuit (1-2 laps are possible)
Entry Fee: £50 per group of four, £20 per individual
Registration Time: 10:00 – 11:30 am
Start Time: 12:00 noon prompt
Surface: Tarmac roads which are closed
Terrain: Flat terrain – no major hills!
Age limit: No age limit

Stoke-on-Trent

Pro Ride 26th September 2010

This ride takes place a week after the official professional race and allows you to take on the full road stage of The Tour of Britain, beginning and ending in Stoke-on-Trent. This stage will be a unique chance for riders to test themselves over the challenging terrain of Staffordshire. There will be Tour of Britain directional signage, static and motorcycle marshals, mechanics, well-stocked feed stations and medical support along the whole route. You'll be well cared for and treated just like the professionals.

Distance: 161 Km
Entry Fee: £40 per rider
Start Time: 08:00 – 10:00 am
Surface: Road
Terrain: Initially rolling terrain with long and steep hills in the latter sections
Age limit: 16 and over

Challenge Ride 26th September 2010

Just over a week after the actual professional race, riders will take on part of the road stage of The Tour of Britain, beginning and ending in Stoke-on-Trent. You'll be able to experience the thrill of riding under The Tour of Britain start and finish gantry, be able to stop at well-provisioned feed stations and have the full support of marshals and ride support vehicles throughout your journey.

Distance: 80 Km
Entry Fee: £30 per rider
Start Time: 09:00 – 10:00 am
Surface: Road
Terrain: Mainly gentle rolling terrain with no major climbs
Age limit: 14 and over

Family Ride 26th September 2010

Riders of all size, age and ability will be able to experience the buzz of The Tour of Britain a week after the professional race. The 25km course has been designed with families in mind and is a circular course beginning and ending in Stoke-on-Trent. Families and friends will be able to ride along carefully selected quiet roads and tow paths which are well signed, marshalled and with a picturesque well-stocked feed station on route.

Distance: 1 Km to 25 Km
Entry Fee: £25 per group of four, £10 per individual
Start Time: 10:00 – 11:00 am
Surface: Road, bridleway and towpath
Terrain: Generally flat with one small hill before returning to finish
Age limit: No age limit

The same attention to detail and event planning is put into delivering a Tour Ride as staging The Tour of Britain. With extensive route signage, marshals, motorcycle support, official cars on route and neutral service, our Tour Rides offer a unique full-support experience. Carefully located and well stocked feed and drink stations along the route will provide you with all your energy requirements plus hot drinks and sandwiches. This year’s Tour Rides will also incorporate timing splits and timed King of the Mountains sections (Pro Tour Ride), adding to your experience and memories of the event.

A warm reception from the crowd lining the barriers and a hot meal awaits as you finish your ride and enter the event village. There you'll be able to swap stories from the route and reflect on a unique day out with The Tour of Britain. Packed goody bags including all manner of cycling treats are given to all entrants.
