The months before the ride |

Make sure that you have made any travel and parking arrangements |
Get everyone familiar and confident with riding a bicycle on quiet roads with other people and road users |
Ride regularly to build some stamina for the distance of the event |
Make sure all the participants bicycles are road worthy |
The day before – Saturday 17th September |

Eat, drink, set the alarm clock and sleep well |
On the day - Sunday 18th September |

Attach ride number to your bicycle handlebars with zip ties provided |
Get your bicycle checked over by a qualified mechanic (optional) |
Fill up your water bottles and grab some food (recommended) |
Place everything you don’t wish to take on your ride in your bag |
Attach the bag label that was in your rider pack to your bag |
Hand the bag in at the drop off point if you don’t wish to cycle with it |
From the registration area you will be directed to the start location ready for a 1.45pm roll out on to the route. Proceed to the start area and await your turn to proceed to the start line |
A mass start will leave at 1400 prompt |
Ride safely and smile. Eat and drink regularly – a well-stocked feed and drink stop is placed after the finish line |
All riders will need to be on the course at 1400. You should be able to complete one or two laps of the famous circuit, depending on how leisurely you want to make your ride! Remember, it’s not a race! |
Finish your final lap by 1500 after cycling your piece of The Tour of Britain and cycle down The Tour of Britain finish straight for the final time as it is set up for the professionals and The TfL London Stage that will bring the curtain down on the 2011 Tour. |
